Blogger All-Stars - Who are yours?

In what appears to be the latest meme to buzz through the Internet, I actually earned something called a "Blogger Reflection Award."  This, despite the fact that this blog here really only exists so that I can harrass my favorite conservatives-who-really-ought-to-know-better: Soccermom and Barry (the one who stuck this icon on me).

Yeesh... "Godly example"??  How about "godly" with a small 'g'- since I'm not about to purport the nature or even existence of any sort of Ultimate, Penultimate or even Minor Deities.  (Though, come to think of it, each of my nominees are each a goddess in their own way).

Not wanting to be a buzz-kill... yet jeopardizing the clear boundaries I've put between my online everyday persona and my online political persona, here's my little list.  In no particular order:

 

The first is easy, simply because she is the reason this particular blog (as woeful as it is) even exists.  Soccermom is unquestionably one of the most well-thought out conservative writers I've ever had the pleasure to read.  The fact I even list "reading a conservative blog" as a pleasure speaks to her deliberative nature.  She and I fundamentally disagree on several issues, but she is always consistent in her beliefs and opinions, always open to discussion even with opposing viewpoints, and a gracious host.  She's not perfect- I mean she votes Republican for heaven's sake, but she's someone I respect.

Caile-girl is a pearl.  Creative and intelligent, yet totally incapable of taking herself too seriously.  Her blog is as eclectic of a mixture you're ever likely to see, as is her mind. 

If my wife blogged, I'd have to include her on this list.  However, in the event that the first wife is unable or unwilling to perform her duties, the second wife will be called in: Kitra.  I believe everyone should be so lucky to have a friendship this close.  I believe that few do. 

Angie doesn't blog with quite the same frequency or regularity as some folks, but when she does, there is a depth in most of what she has to say.  I respect and admire her.

Finally, Excav8engineerwitch is the way I satiate my voyeuristic tendencies.  It's a guilty pleasure, a bit like reading your sister's diary (not that I ever did that), but it can be a nice escape to a land where the mountains are tall, the skies are big, and the women put poison ivy extract into gift soaps they make for their ex's.

 

Honorable Mention goes to  Barry who's generally smarter than his posts.  Hopefully.

    I've been worried about you - you and yours all fine in spite of the I35W?

  2. Cate- all are fine and safe. The best man at my wedding was just three cars from the collapse: he's a bit shaken, because moments before, a woman cut him off on the highway, forcing him to slam on the brakes. Well, she went into the river, and he could only watch the collapse.

    Thankfully, though, noone I know was directly affected, and it sounds like considering the magnitude, there was less fatalities than might have otherwise been expected.

  3. What a close call for your friend! I think those school children who were rescued won't be the only ones who develop a bridge phobia.

    It really was fortunate that so few were lost to the collapse - could've been so much worse.

    I responded to the Blogger Awards over at my place - hopefully, you'll get a laugh out of it.

  5. I think Barry is reasonable on occasion. EB - most of the time. Michael - when he agrees with Barry. Cate - very reasonable when she has been drinking. Mos? Aza - a genius (he agrees with me a lot). Burns - very consistent - all illegal aliens all the time. Burns hires someone to rant for him when he goes to the bathroom.

  9. I'm not sure what you mean- you are free to read whatever inanity is in here. If you're talking about the font size- I'm clueless. It's a shrunken down thing that I've never been able to figure out how to fix.... nor do I put enough effort into this blog to bother figuring out how to fix. Any suggestion?
